MRI guided musculoskeletal interventions (part1)

This talk will present the Gönemeyer Institute of Microtherapy experience in MRI guided intervention. We will discuss feasibility, clinical experience and future directions. MRI interventions are more time consuming that CT-guided interventions but several techniques are able to speed up the procedure time. The main advantage of MRI is the absence of irradiation and improved visualization over CT (lesion, soft tissue). Therapeutic interventions may include, interventional spine treatment like isthmic spondylolisthesis or facet join therapy and articulations. During arthrography, liquid can be punctured and drugs can be installed. Other example like MRI guided cryotherapy or surgical intervention in open MRI will be mentioned.
